This two day short course is intended to provide highway
designers with a review of critical elements of the
geometric design process. The focus is on the rural design
environment and an objective of Alberta Transportation to
provide a safe and efficient highway system for the movement
of people, goods and services within and through Alberta.
While the key topics in the
Alberta Transportation
HIGHWAY GEOMETRIC DESIGN GUIDE are covered, recent
topics such as roadside safety are introduced. This course
is directed at road designers with a
minimum of
experience. Designers will learn of recent additions to the
Alberta Transportation Design Guide.
Dr. John Morrall, P.Eng.,
PhD. and Peter Mah, P.Eng. are the
instructors for the course.
