             Topic: Urban Application of Gondola (Aerial Transit Technology)

        Steven Dale is the founder of Creative Urban Projects (CUP Projects), a small planning shop in Toronto, Canada.  He is an expert on Cable-Propelled Transit (CPT) with several years experience researching and consulting on the matter.

        Steven recently launched The Gondola Project in mid 2009 as a way to inform and educate the urban issues community about this ancient and revolutionary technology.

    Join ITE August 8-11,2010 in Vancouver, BC Canada for
    the ITE 2010 Annual Meeting and Exhibit


    The ITE 2010 International Annual Meeting and Exhibit attracts over 1000 delegates including many from around the world. The Technical Program is divided into five tracks, offering 42 technical sessions. The track subjects are Traffic Engineering and Design, Safety, Planning, Transportation Operations, and Professional Development Seminars.

    Attending this annual event will give you access to dynamic paper presentations, panel discussions, technical tours, and professional development seminars, which will address the application of 21st century technologies, discuss multifaceted approaches to addressing transportation issues, and explore emerging trends in the industry.

     
    Take note that the Trade Show/Exhibition offers free daily admission to all local operational staff. There are over 50 international suppliers which showcase the newest and most innovative technology and equipment for traffic engineering.

    About ITESA

    The ITE Southern Alberta Section's geographic area includes the City of Red Deer south to the United States' border. Our membership currently includes 237 transportation professionals, a majority of whom work/reside in the City of Calgary. In general, the section hosts monthly luncheon meetings (September to June) where technical presentations are made to the broad transportation community. The section is also actively pursuing several professional development courses and seminars to provide learning opportunities for the membership.

    The Southern Alberta Section hosted the Canadian ITE Annual Conference in 2001. That conference gave the section an opportunity to meet other members from across the county. In 2009, the Lethbridge Chapter of ITE Southern Alberta formed.
